One Tail at a Time has been growing by leaps and bounds with nearly 65 lives saved in 2009 - our first full year of adoptions - and we need the help of dedicated, knowledgeable volunteers to help us continue to grow!
On Saturday, December 12th from 10am-12pm in the Bucktown-Wicker Park Library (1701 N. Milwaukee, Chicago) first floor meeting room, One Tail at a Time will be hosting a training session for new Adoption/Foster Counselors.
If you consider yourself to be dog savvy and have experience working with dogs, then becoming an Adoption/Foster Counselor may be for you! AFC's are an integral part of One Tail’s adoption process and help with screening potential foster and adoptive homes, finalizing adoptions, and acting as a resource for foster homes and new parents. This is the perfect opportunity for people that want to have a more hands-on role in getting the wonderful, deserving pups of One Tail at a Time into the best home for them!
As our programs grow, we will be better suited to accommodate people who are looking to build their dog knowledge and experience and become an AFC. However at this time, we are looking for people who have at least one year's volunteer or employment experience working with dogs (does not have to be in a shelter or rescue setting). Since one aspect of being an AFC is introducing dogs to potential fosters/adopters, a car is required for this position.
In order to attend the training, we ask that you complete the AFC Application form. The form must be filled out and returned to AndreaOTAT@gmail.com on or before Wednesday, December 9th in order to attend. Space is limited to 7 people, so get your application in fast! To request an application, contact Andrea @ OTAT, or a CSR at All For Doggies @ 773-395-0900
Thank you!
